NAFIGATE implements an optimized model of an upstream fermentation experiment on a laboratory scale. Based on new knowledge gained in their research, they perform optimization experiments on a laboratory scale in a laboratory fermentation tank.
They set new cultivation conditions and determine the quality of the obtained biomass in terms of PHB content and yield. They also perform cultivation using microbiological techniques and examine the properties of their production strains.
The NAFIGATE researchers, also held discussions on the potential of some applications using PHB, coffee grounds and other wastes. Comparison of the results of searches and evaluation of the potential of the acquired knowledge for implementation into existing application technologies.
